Welcome

Hello and I'm pleased you decided to stop by. Below you will find a little bit about the things I'm doing with my time now that I am in ACT III of my professional life, which I'm pleased to say affords me the time to volunteer with several worthy charities. Learn about them below.

Act III

Welcome!

I'm Lynn Grillo, and I am currently in Act III of my professional life. I started as a dancer/choreographer in my 20s, moved to technology in my 40s and now devote my time to working with charities. See LinkedIn for details of my corporate life. I now enjoy lending my skills to help make a difference in the lives of others. I love Photoshop, but InDesign is my fav.

Dance for the Cure

I’ve worked closely with Dance for the Cure to shape the way the organization communicates—both to the public and within the community it serves. Over time, I’ve helped create a wide range of materials, including press releases, social media content, informational flyers, brochures, donor appeals, and event programs. Each piece is designed to support the core mission: providing financial help to local breast cancer patients during one of the most difficult times in their lives.

In addition to writing and messaging, I also designed and developed the Dance for the Cure website and continue to manage both the site and our blog. I’m also responsible for our visual branding—everything from campaign graphics to event signage. My focus is always on consistency, clarity, and creating materials that reflect who we are: 100% volunteer-run, community-based, and committed to keeping every dollar local.

Whether I’m working on a flyer for one of our signature programs, maintaining the website, or helping to tell the story of someone we’ve supported, I try to keep things clear, respectful, and grounded in the real impact Dance for the Cure is making. This work has allowed me to play a part in something that’s both deeply needed and incredibly rewarding. I’m proud to be helping the organization grow its reach, strengthen its message, and support even more patients and families each year.

Vegetable Garden Planner Review, March 2023

I began gardening in the spring of 2020 when the world was in lockdown due to the pandemic. I learned how to garden by using the GrowVeg videos which led me to the Garden Planner. Below is my review which was featured on the Almanac website.

The West Trenton Garden Club was established in 1953 to share the love of gardening, the principles of flower design, and to encourage civic improvement. I joined in 2023 and design the monthly newsletter alongside long-time editor, Jeff Tryon.

According to the USDA, Winter Sowing is defined as: “A propagation method used throughout the winter where temperate climate seeds are sown into protective vented containers and placed outdoors to foster a naturally timed, high percentage germination of climate tolerant seedlings,” which is a fancy way of saying "put seeds in jugs and leave them outside until they grow!"  The best Winter Sowing resource is a facebook group is run by Sheryl Mann.
